Lovely Pinky Malhotra is a heart-breaker in the college where she studies, and has a number of young men who would lay down their lives for her. Amongst them are Sunil and Vicky. She is attracted to Sunil, and both carry on a romantic relationship, hoping to get married after finishing college. Before that could happen, Pinky finds out that Sunil has been two-timing her as he is already dating another young collegian. Angered and hurt at this, she decides she will have nothing to do with him, and starts her romance with Vicky.
Sunil, who does not know what has transpired, wants to talk to Pinky with a view of rekindling their romance, but Pinky refuses to speak with him. The question remains is Sunil really in love with another girl, and if so, why did he take the trouble to woo Pinky? Trivia It was right after Jaan Tere Naam released that is was revealed that his wife name was Johaina Mumtaz Khan.
She was the niece of actor Dilip Kumar (Dilip's sister Taj's daughter). Johaina's paternal grandfather was politician Fazal Nawaz Jung Badhur. Ronit Roy and Johaina have a daughter named Ona Roy who is a world famous packaging designer based in New York, USA.
She was born in 1991. Johaina has since remarried to Jamal and has a son named Zayed. Johaina's elder sister Rubaina Mumtaz Khan was married to actor Mazhar Khan ( who went on to marry Zeenat Aman). Mazhar and Rubaina's son Azhar Khan is now a actor in Hollywood ( TV serial Mr. Rubaina is now married to Sanjay Nagpal ( Former fiance of actress Ektaa Sohini Bahl).
Johaina's brother's name is Syed Fahd Asad Mumtaz. He is married to former actress Kiran Vairale. They have a son named Asaad Mumtaz. Ahh, those were the days.
College guys and girls falling in love, bunking classes, dancing to some great tunes, till the villain or warring families came in their way. A few tense moments later, they live happily ever after. It's the same with this movie. Ronit Roy is superb and Farheen is lovely. They are passionately in love and will sing, dance and fight till the world leaves them alone, and how! The songs are outstanding and even after all these years, they never fail to tug at my heart strings (the heavenly combination of Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Nadeem-Shravan). Watch this movie with an open mind, especially if you are a die-hard romantic, and you won't be disappointed!
