Does The Minivelle Patch Cause Weight Gain

Does The Minivelle Patch Cause Weight Gain Rating: 4,3/5 2829 reviews

I have been on HRT (the patch) for almost 3 months and have been steadily gaining weight to where I now am at my highest weight ever (exceptt when I was pregnant). I am on the.0375 Minivelle patch after trying a low dose Etstradiol for several weeks which also caused weight gain. I'm 5'4', so when this much weight (about 7 pounds) creeps up quickly and with no other changes in diet or exercise, I'm concerned that I will continue to have weight gain and not be able to fit in any of my clothes, etc. It's already a problem.

5 years of not sleeping, joint pain, 30 pounds of weight gain on a 5'2' frame was devastating. I hated my life & didn’t care much for the people I loved, Hot flashes, mood swings, depression, anxiety & one year I refused to even go to the family Christmas, I just couldn’t stand being around people.

After having unbearable hot flashes for about two months and many sleepless nights, I'm not sure that I want to go back to that, but I pulled the patch off this morning after getting off the scale in frustration. Has anyone else had these issues? Has anyone tried natural HRT with any success? I hear mixed reviews of that, but am willing to try an alternative. BTW, when I call my doctor, the response from the nurse is that yes, weight gain is a side effect, so that's not really helpful.

I already know that. Also, first i tried 'compounded' bio identical hormones. But they didn't work. My doc says that the problem with compounded hormones is that they will be different refill to refill and pharmacy to pharmacy-- it's like if you baked the same cake every month-- you would never bake EXACTLY the same cake, there is no way you would use the exact same number of sugar granules. I was on compounded progesterone for a year and didn't feel anything different.

However from the first time i tried promethium i felt it work! I am a total holistic and organic type and hate taking any medicine-- but i got so tired of feeling like crap i was willing to try anything. I am not a fan of the pharmaceutical industry and refuse to go on high cholesterol meds, but these hormones have really helped. I was on very low dose of estradiol, only. I lost 50 pounds. Felt wonderful. Went off estrogen 9 weeks ago.

Am feeling more normal but the first month was night sweats and just generally feeling depressed. I gained 7 pounds but, I know it was I was emotionally eating.

Minivelle

I have forced myself to stop doing that and now I am on the weight decline. Slow in coming off but I expected that. I do not mean to sound boastful, but it goes to show how each of us is do different.

I think I was never given progesterone after my hysterectomy because of severe breast issues. I know this post doesn't help anyone but I sure felt great on estrogen. I also like the idea of being HRT free now that, I hope, I am over the hump.y. I went on minivelle.05 18 months ago and have gained 15 pounds. Very depressing:(.
